CoxHealth - Because Life Happens

How does CMN help?
Children's Miracle Network

CMN provides service to sick and injured children living within a 34-county area in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. Those counties are Benton, St. Clair, Cedar, Dade, Lawrence, Barry, Hickory, Polk, Greene, Christian, Stone, Taney, Ozark, Douglas, Webster, Dallas, Camden, Laclede, Wright, Howell, Texas, Pulaski, Phelps, Dent, Shannon and Oregon in Missouri, and Carroll, Boone, Marion, Baxter, Fulton, Izard, Newton and Searcy in Arkansas.

Special Needs Fund
When insurance, Medicaid and other agencies can’t help, the CMN Special Needs Fund is available. This fund helps families with items such as travel expenses, prescription medications, wheelchair rentals, hearing aides, prosthetics and minor medical equipment.

Family Care Grant Fund
A family who has had a child hospitalized at CoxHealth may apply for assistance with that hospital bill.

C.A.R.E. (Children Are Really Excellent) Mobile
The C.A.R.E. Mobile is a children’s clinic on wheels. It offers basic health services such as immunizations, checkups, sports physicals, treatment of common childhood illnesses and other primary care for children from birth to age 18. The C.A.R.E. Mobile is a partnership between CMN, CoxHealth and a family of supporters.

Educational Programs
Prevention of illness and injury is important for children and their families. CMN provides two educational programs that are available for schools and civic organizations. "Wasted" is an anti-drinking and driving campaign presented by former Cox Air Care nurse Laurie Miller. Laurie relays her real-life experience as a flight nurse to convey the tragedies she encountered when teens "wasted" their lives by choosing to drink and drive. To schedule "Wasted" for your group, call us at 417/269-5437 or e-mail us at [email protected].

Shaken Baby Syndrome is a tragedy. Parents, siblings, babysitters and other family members must learn how to properly deal with a crying baby by heeding the message "Never, never shake a baby." CoxHealth's educator and nurse Meredith Martin’s 30-minute presentation teaches people to deal with their feelings and protect their babies. To schedule a presentation, call us at 417/269-5437 or e-mail us at [email protected].

Life Saving Equipment
CMN works to ensure that the highest quality life-saving equipment possible is available to area children. Each year CMN purchases specialized pediatric equipment for hospitals, clinics, ambulance districts and schools within its 34-county service area. To find out more about applying for a grant to purchase equipment, contact us at 417/269-5437 or e-mail us at [email protected].
