Volunteer Services and Auxiliary Membership
Our volunteers are women, men and young people who work in many hospital
areas assisting in the care of our patients and their families. Cox Health
Systems Volunteer
Services staff works with you to select a volunteer position that best
fits your interests, skills and schedule. Cox volunteers are given an
orientation and trained for the assignment for which they are best suited.
Volunteers are caring people like you, using their spare time to make
a difference. Our volunteers fall into several categories:
Teen Volunteers Teens serve throughout the hospital and in
our Child Care Centers. Many of these teens hope to pursue a health care
career. Teen volunteers must be 14 years old and attending school.
Student Volunteers Student volunteers are college students
volunteering in the area in which they are seeking a college degree. For
some it is a program requirement.
Futures Program These volunteers are participating in state-funded
programs that will help them with school or help them gain skills needed
to find a job. They are required to volunteer in the community.
Level 2 Clinical Volunteers These volunteers are trained to
do advanced clinical tasks.
Familiar Faces Volunteers The Familiar Faces program consists
of retired employees placed in high stress/high volume areas of the health
system.
Ambassador Volunteers These specially trained volunteers handle
customer service responsibilities. They fill the role of a greeter or
first contact for customers/visitors.
Regular Volunteers These volunteers provide clerical and clinical
assistance, staff Auxiliary fund-raising projects and supplement the work
of paid hospital staff in more than 60 different areas.
Auxiliary Board These volunteers serve on the Auxiliary Board
of Directors, planning, implementing and governing fund-raising efforts
for the Auxiliary. They also participate in education projects for the
public.
