Cox Air Care
Accredited Emergency Air Care

Cox Air Care is southwest Missouri's premier air medical flight program. All of us at Cox Air Care are extremely pleased to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems or CAMTS as a program demonstrating overall quality of service and having high standards.

CAMTS is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality and safety of medical transport services. Accreditation is a voluntary process that includes the evaluation of patient care and safety in fixed and rotorwing services, as well as ground and interfacility services.

In addition to the initial application process, an on-site visit was conducted and reviews were made of the CoxHealth flight program and its integration with other hospital departments such as emergency, critical care and dispatch. Cox Air Care was found to demonstrate "a steady balance in all dynamic components of the program." This was a tremendous achievement for our program that took a huge effort from the entire crew.

The Cox Air Care mission is to transport those critically ill or injured to tertiary care facilities throughout the area. Our coverage area includes all of southwest Missouri and parts of northwest Arkansas. We operate 24/7 with a flight crew that consists of a flight nurse, flight paramedic and a pilot. Our helicopter is a Eurocopter BO105 cbs, also known as a Bolkow. This is an ideal aircraft for the terrain in this area of the country.

At Cox Air Care we pride ourselves on safety, and we would not be able to achieve any mission without the maintenance staff, pilots, communication specialists and medical crews all cooperating as a team.
