To make reservations, or for additional information, please call the
Child Life Department at 417/269-6784 or Pediatrics at 417/269-6700.
Remember to:
- Pack comfort items (blanket, pacifier, bottle, tippy cup and/or stuffed
animals) plus an extra pair of underwear in case of an accident.
- Pack toys to keep your child occupied while waiting.
- Check with your doctor and follow any pre-op suggestions.
Family surgery reminders:
- Pregnant mothers are encouraged to accompany their child to holding
but they should not be in the operating room.
- The way your child goes to sleep with anesthesia is usually the way
they will awaken, so they may be upset.
- Each anesthesiologist is different in the way they handle induction
in the operating room. If you are not close enough to touch your child
please remember to keep talking to reassure them and keep them calm.
