Children's Hospital Services
CoxHealth has always been dedicated to children of the Ozarks�not
only when they are sick or injured, but also as they make choices that
affect their health and safety for years to come.
A
Children�s Miracle Network hospital since 1986, Cox Health Systems
uses CMN funds to offer financial assistance to families of children with
serious illness and injuries; to purchase medical equipment enhancing
the quality of care for hospitalized children; and to provide health and
safety education programs for kids throughout the Ozarks.

Keeping Kids Well
The C.A.R.E. (Children Are
Really Excellent!) Mobile�a children�s clinic on wheels, offering
basic health services for children from birth to age 18, including immunizations,
sports physicals and primary care.
Emergency Care
A sick or injured child is in good hands when receiving emergency care
by the staff of Baby Buggy (for newborn emergency transport), Cox AIR
CARE or Cox Pre-Hospital Services.
In The Hospital
Child Life Specialists minimize children�s fears and provide them
with an ally during hospitalization.
Pre-Op Parties provide a fun way for children to get acquainted
with the hospital setting and meet staff prior to surgery.
Family Surgery Program is an option for patents who wish to accompany
their child during the anesthesia phase of surgery.
The Children�s Village is designed for fun and cheer on our Pediatric
unit. It features life-size murals depicting familiar scenes from life
in the Ozarks.
Pediatric ICU is for seriously ill children needing surgical,
medical or trauma care.
Intensive Care Nursery is a 52-bed unit with caring, skilled
staff and advanced medical equipment for premature or ill newborns.
Pediatric Social Workers provide children and families with emotional
support as well as referral to community, state and federal resources.
A Pediatric PharmD specializes in meeting the unique medication
needs of children.
Pediatric Rehab services (both in-and outpatient) include physical
therapy, occupational therapy, infant hearing screenings, speech-language
therapy, developmental follow-up, nutrition consults and much more.
Critical Care & Specialty Services
Children aren�t just little adults. Nobody understands this better than
our pediatric medical staff, who provide specialty pediatric care (pulmonology,
neurology, cardiology, intensive care, cleft palate, orthopedics) every
day.
Visiting specialists also see children for genetic disorders, hormone
and growth problems, and diabetes.
Home Care Network
When home care is appropriate, your care coordinator will provide you
with a list of available services. Cox Health Systems offers Oxford
HealthCare, Home Parenteral Services and Home Support Systems to meet your child�s
needs in the place that�s best: home.
Burrell Behavioral Health
Comprehensive behavioral health services
include innovative outpatient programs for individual, child, adolescent
and family therapy, as well as inpatient psychiatry, residential and specialty
treatment.
