Ozark Neuro Rehab Center
Cox Rehabilitation Services
Individualized treatment for individuals with brain injuries
and other neurological disorders.
3550 S. National Ave., Suite 200
Springfield, Missouri 65807
8 a.m. 4:30 p.m., Monday Friday
Day treatment services are offered on an outpatient
basis to those 16 years of age or older who have sustained a brain injury
or other neurological disorder. Victims of stroke,
aneurysm, anoxia, encephalopathy or cerebral related illness or accident
are eligible for referral.
Because the effects of brain
injury and other neurological disorders vary from person to person,
this program provides treatment based on a personal plan of care for each
individual. This program serves as an important link for individuals who
do not require further hospitalization, yet still have an identified need
for rehabilitative services prior to their return to home, work, school
and community.

Therapeutic treatment and other services are provided with a commitment
to nurturing personal growth and dignity, utilizing the least restrictive
environment possible that safely allows each person to sustain and enrich
the quality of his or her life. All services are focused on the physical,
emotional, communicative, vocational, social, occupational and recreational
needs of each patient.
Services are provided by a team of physical therapists, speech/language
pathologists, occupational therapists, vocational counselors and neuropsychologists/psychologists.
All have specialized training, experience, expertise and interest in the
treatment of traumatic brain injury and neurological disorders.
Family Involvement
The patient and his or her family are the most important members of the
treatment team. All are encouraged to be involved in the rehabilitative
process by participating in planning, goal setting and evaluating, and
by taking part in supportive activities.
Return to the Community
Planning for the patients return to home, work, school or community begins
the day he or she enters the day treatment program. Each individuals
strengths, needs, abilities and preferences are considered in setting
the goals and objectives for his or her personalized treatment plan. To
assist individuals in transferring the skills they have learned to less
structured surroundings and ease their return to their community; actual
and simulated situations are utilized in therapy. Examples include daily
living activities and skills training such as meal preparation, budgeting,
social interactions, work site interventions and community outings.
Follow-up Care
The quality of life experienced by each patient when he or she leaves
the Ozark Neuro Rehab Center is a key concern. Our primary emphasis is
on each individuals strengths, not deficits. He or she may be faced with
a wide range of new challenges. The program provides for follow-up services
and identifies the need for further services, if necessary, to continue
the patients improvement. Follow-up may mean continuing a single therapy,
or may include utilization of various community resources.
Physician referral is required. Fax referrals to 417/269-0582.
