Burrell Behavioral Health
"In all things, there is opportunity for growth."
The difficulties associated with mental, nervous and stress disorders,
family problems or problems with aging touch far more lives than just
the affected individual. Burrell offers services to help the unique behavioral
health
needs of senior adults and their families.
Emergency services are available 24 hours, seven days a week for
individuals facing crisis. Professional counselors help clients to identify
and manage immediate problems, then a course of action is recommended
to prevent recurrence of the problem. For 24-hour crisis assistance call
417/862-6555 or 1-800-494-7355.
Outpatient counseling and psychotherapy are available with licensed
professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers and licensed
psychologists. These services include individual, group, family and marital
therapy.
Community support services help senior adults with serious mental
illness attain integration, or necessary reintegration into the community
while living in their own apartment or home setting. Services include
case management and psychosocial rehabilitation programs aimed at moving
mentally ill older adults to higher levels of functioning within their
community.
The Senior Adult Inpatient Unit is designed to assist patients
55 or older who are experiencing significant loss of functional abilities
due to overwhelming stress, depression, thought disorders and/or anxiety.
