CoxHealth board of directors names Chief
Executive Officer
Robert
H. “Bob” Bezanson will assume the position of president
and chief executive officer of CoxHealth following the August 2004
retirement of Larry D. Wallis, CoxHealth’s board of directors
announced today.
Bezanson has served as CoxHealth’s
executive vice president and chief operating officer for the past eight
years. He was administrator
of Cox South from 1986-1995
and assistant administrator for Lester E. Cox Medical Center from 1981-1986.
“Bob has been an integral part of the executive management team at CoxHealth
for 22 years,” said Charles Chalender, board chairman. “Throughout
his tenure, his passion and commitment to the success of CoxHealth has been
apparent. He has the integrity and vision required for effective leadership.”
Bezanson attained his Bachelor of Science in business and public administration
from the University of Maryland. His administrative residency was accomplished
at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Bezanson earned his masters in health administration
from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
