Cox Health Systems recognizes and responds to the unique health needs
of women. For 15 years, The Women's Center has served as the leading  voice
for women's health in southwest Missouri. Call us for health answers,

We can answer your questions...
We recognize that childbirth is a family experience. More than 3,900
babies are born each year at Cox South, so you can trust us to help you
prepare for a healthy pregnancy. Our Special Delivery maternity program
provides everything from physician referrals for you and your baby to
classes on planning your pregnancy, prepared childbirth, siblings, parenting
and grandparenting. Because breastfeeding is healthy for both mothers
and babies, The Women’s Center offers inpatient and outpatient consultations
with certified lactation professionals, breastfeeding classes, breast
pump rental and sales, and nursing bra sales with personalized fittings.
Call us for information on special events such as the annual Baby Affair
and Pickles and Ice Cream Luncheon.
Osteoporosis is a silent disease, often showing no symptoms until you
break a bone. The best treatment for this disease is prevention and early
detection. In our Osteoporosis Clinic,
we offer simple, inexpensive bone density screenings, as well
as full diagnostic bone density testing and education about osteoporosis.
Breast cancer is the number one cause of cancer death in women ages 20–59.
Early detection of breast cancer can mean the difference between life
and death. Our Women's
Center Breast Care Clinic offers a full range of breast health services,
including screening and diagnostic mammography, breast biopsy, breast
prostheses and mastectomy bras, instruction in breast self-exam, a breast
cancer support group plus annual awareness events.
We offer educational programs on a wide variety of health topics throughout
the year. Plus, our nurses are available by phone at 417/886-LADY to answer
questions about your own health and the health of your family. The Joyce
Schwandt Library, located in The Women's Center, offers more than 1,500
books and videos for checkout at no charge.
